From the 19th to the 21st of June, The Thinking Software team will be exhibiting at FIREX International 2018 and we sincerely hope we see as many of you as we possibly can.
We have attended the event for the past 2 years and on both occasions we left feeling it was a huge success. It really is the perfect place to showcase the work we are currently doing and meet who are responsible for prioritising safety within their organisation.
I came across the article: “Cheapside Street Fire – One of Britain’s worst Peacetime fir disasters remembered.” (Christina O’Neill, 2018, https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk) We obviously all hope that these tragic incidents never happen, it’s articles like these that remind us they certainly have and as an organisation it’s a case of hope for the best but plan for the worst.
For those of you unfamiliar with us here at Thinking Software we develop and maintain the software we produce and while we cover other solutions, we come to FIREX to showcase our Emergency Roll Call and Evacuation Management system, MUSTERD.
The system’s invention came as a result of the Workforce Management, Time & Attendance solution we have also developed, Rota Horizon. Within that solution there is a very basic Roll Call that advises who is on-site when the Roll Call Report is printed.
When our Support team would liaise with customers with reference to this, there were (and still are) many questions that would come from them. To over simply things if anything, the general consensus was that the report produced was too simplistic and that clients were craving a system that could really help them manage the situation more effectively in the event of a disaster.
This is where MUSTERD was born. We knew we needed to create the solution that could help reduce the panic and stress, when trying to manage a high pressure situation and ensure that all stakeholders are accounted for. As it stands even the very basic roll call report can be put in jeopardy cause by hardware failure and particularly challenging conditions.
So we have 2 solutions, MUSTERD Roll Call linking to access control makes everyone unsafe in the event the alarm is triggered. Staff will present their access control tokens (or do so manually) to android devices that communicate with the cloud meaning the information is shared in real time. It’s operating on this basis that means that the solution continues to make people safe even if the Access Control goes down in the blaze.
MUSTERD Sweep and Clear uses signs that are strategically located to represent zones for the organisation. When disaster strikes Safety Officers/Fire Marshals sweep these zones advising whether zones are safe or unsafe that again is communicated on the android deceives among the disaster recovery team.
Both of which we will be demonstrating on a regular basis throughout the duration of the Event. If you want to book in a time to see either version of MUSTERD in action please do so on our website at: https://musterd.com/ – or you can do so by calling our Business Development Team on 0800 854 471.
