How productive is your workforce?

“According to new research from serviced office specialist Workthere, the average UK worker is wasting 50 hours a year as a result of failing technology in the office, which Workthere estimates could result in an £11 billion loss for UK businesses, based on employment data from the ONS.”

Reading this really must prompt organisations to assess their current approaches and consider whether their current methods are most practical to achieving their end goal. All employees will have the appropriate holiday profile assigned to them (whether they are salary or hourly paid) and dependant on that profile the system will calculate their entitlement, that will simply have the necessary hours/days deducted when a holiday day is selcted in the Department Rota. It also calculates all other absence types and even calculates Lieu balances if necessary.

Finally the system also offer a web based platform called Self Service that has the following features:

  • Clock in/out (their GPS location is recorded when using a mobile)
  • View their work schedule (past, present & future)
  • Request annual leave/absence
  • Check remaining holiday entitlement
  • View unallocated shifts and request to work them
  • Set their availability
  • View their flexi-time balance

Employees will be able to view the appropriate information and make the necessary requests to their line managers who will authorise any forms of leave and overtime requests.
