LiMAR Well Intervention Products, design and engineer quality Coiled Tubing and Wireline tools for the global energy industry in South East Asia and the UK.

A dynamic, passionate team providing you with an extensive selection of quality Coiled Tubing and Wireline intervention tools for the global energy industry. Our designs are driven by former field specialists and realised through our highly-skilled engineering team. Our products are extensively tested and widely used in many diverse locations worldwide. Whether it’s the craftsmanship in design, the hex make-up and break-out flats on every product or the anodised red aluminium protectors, LiMAR products are instantly recognisable and equally impressive. Our unique product offering boasts a selection of tools built around the key design philosophy of Simplicity, Durability and Ease of Use. We understand the operational constraints of our customers. We understand the wells our clients develop, the wells they service and the sometimes-harsh conditions they impose. We understand the deployment mediums and their limitations. We know what the end user wants because we were the end users.

2. How many people do you employ? (number of employees, Departments, Sites where necessary)

We are an SME with 32 employees at our UK facility in Oulton Broad, Suffolk, which is where we manufacture our Slickline products. We have grown substantially over the past few years, expanding from one to three units, which has given us the opportunity to significantly increase our global customer base. We do have another facility in Thailand which manufactures our coil tubing products. The Thai site pre-dates the UK site and this year we are celebrating 20 years of LiMAR!

3. What are the common problems/issues that you face in your business regarding time & attendance, staff planning and overall workforce management?

Absenteeism can certainly be an issue and attendance is vital, enabling us to keep our machines running and productivity high. Our machinists work shifts, which can generally be harder to manage and there do seem to be more issues associated with shift working rather than with the standard working hours. Employees working unsociable hours certainly have a higher percentage of time off than employees working the day shift.

4. What was the major driver that made you go out and look for a time & attendance system?

It was essential for us to implement an effective HR software to help us to track levels of absence and to easily identify trends, so that where possible, appropriate measures can be put in place.

We were also living in the dark ages and recording everything on paper, which is time consuming and environmentally unfriendly.

5. How has the implementation of RotaOne addressed these problems?

As employees now have responsibility for clocking in and out, have the capability to manage their annual leave independently and have a certain degree of flexibility, I would say that this has certainly helped to inspire improved attendance records.

6. What would you say is the main benefit or benefits that RotaOne has bought to your organisation?

I feel that we are now utilising the system to its full potential, although it has been a learning curve, it is certainly paying off. The main benefit is that the system has enabled us to streamline many admin processes to be quicker and more efficient. We were very pleased with the document storage facility and have been slowly adding data and building on the foundations to achieve a very effective system.

7. How helpful do you find the Thinking Software Support Team?

As I only started with the LiMAR at the beginning of this year, I have to say that the support team have been very accommodating and has been able to help and support me in a very structured manner, enabling me to get up to speed with a system I’ve not had any prior experience with. The support team have not only been able to deal with all enquiries in a very efficient way, but they have also been very kind, at times very funny and overall, a pleasure to work with.
